Magnetic Lashes
Magnetic lashes
When it comes to eyelashes, the bigger the better, right? There is just something about having long, voluminous lashes that instantly transforms any eye makeup. And while wearing false eyelashes can certainly give you the drama you crave, it can be hard to take it on. Enter the latest makeup trend: magnetic eyelashes. Magnetic eyelashes are basically the answer to all of our makeup prayers. Read on for how to apply magnetic lashes and how to incorporate them into your next makeup.
HOW TO APPLY MAGNETIC EYELASHES
Magnetic eyelashes usually involve two strips of false eyelashes, one above your real lashes and one below. How do magnetic eyelashes work? Well, these two bands connect via a magnet in order to stay in place. You don't have to do any work to make the eyelashes magnetic, the eyelash strip itself is magnetic. Pretty simple, right ?
STEP 1: CHOOSE THE RIGHT MAGNETIC EYELASHES
Before learning how to apply magnetic lashes, it is important to start with the right type of magnetic lashes! Magnetic eyelashes come in different styles, depending on what look you are going for, just like other types of false eyelashes. They come in different intensities depending on how you want your eyelashes to appear. There are many options to choose from, and magnetic lashes allow you to try more than one!
STEP # 2: TAKE YOUR MASCARA
Just because you wear magnetic lashes doesn't mean you have to ditch your mascara. In the same way that you can wear mascara with fakes, a coat of mascara will help your natural lashes to blend in with your magnetic lashes. Editor's Note: Speaking of fakes, you will also find that many hacks for applying false eyelashes can be applied to magnetic lashes, so if you have experience in this area, you are already ahead of the game. Game!
STEP 3: TRIM YOUR MAGNETIC EYELASHES
Trimming your lashes - not the real ones - is a key step in learning how to apply magnetic lashes. Magnetic lashes likely won't be the exact shape and length of your actual lashes, so you want to trim them for the perfect fit. You can also cut them into smaller sections, such as halves or thirds, to make them easier to manage and apply.
STEP 4: APPLY YOUR MAGNETIC EYELASHES
It is now time to take the most important step: apply your magnetic lashes. You can apply them with tweezers or just use your fingers, what with what you feel most comfortable. First, place the top lash strip on top of your actual lashes, making sure to line up the lashes with either edge of your lash line. Then gently place the lower lash strip under your lashes and watch the magic happen! The magnets will connect and you will instantly have a set of false information. If you haven't aligned the bands as well as you would like, just remove them and try again! The practice makes perfect, and fortunately, there is no adhesive residue to be treated when it comes to correcting errors of magnetic lashe. You work with a magnetic eyeliner? In this case, you will only have one strip of lashes, as we saw earlier. First, apply a thin line of the liner to your upper eyelid, as you normally would. Then use tweezers to line up your lash strip with your eyeliner and apply, adjusting if necessary. Easy peasy !
STEP # 5: COATING YOUR LOWER LASHES
Of course, you don't want to leave all of the drama on top! Balance your dramatic look by applying mascara to your lower lashes. We personally love Lash Lifting and Lengthening Unlimited Washable Mascara for its lifting and lengthening capabilities.
HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR MAGNETIC LASH MAKEUP LOOK
Bold lashes are beautiful, but they don't always give a full look. You might want to complement your magnetic lashes with a little more makeup. Since the magnetic eyelashes are simply dramatic, you want to wear an eye makeup that matches the bold statement of your lashes. We love to pair them with a classic black smokey eye! Here's how to create your eye makeup, it has to be done before applying your lashes.
STEP 1: APPLY A PRIMER
Start by applying an eye shadow primer to make sure your makeup lasts all day and night. It will also allow your eyeshadow colors to appear in their true vibrant color.
STEP 2: TAKE YOUR EYESHADOW
You can create a black smoky eye with Color Riche Pocket Palette Eyeshadow in Silver Couture. First, apply the medium gray eye shadow on your eyelid. Then use darker medium gray eye shadow to define your crease. Deepen your crease by applying the darker shade to the outer V of your lid. Brighten up your eyes by applying the light silver eyeshadow in your inner corner. And use a fluffy shadow brush to blur the harsh lines.
STEP 3: ALIGN YOUR EYES
If you have already applied a magnetic eyeliner, you can skip this step! Alternatively, complete your eye makeup look by creating your crisper winged eyeliner look with Matte Signature Liquid Eyeliner, Waterproof in Black. Then line your waterline and lower lash line with Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil for up to 24 hours in black.
HOW TO REMOVE MAGNETIC EYELASHES
Good news: Magnetic eyelash removal does not require any special skills. If you used two magnetic eyelash strips, just separate the magnets and remove the lashes, gently, of course. For those who wear a magnetic eyeliner, carefully remove the eyelashes and wipe the liner with eye makeup remover.
